STREET INTERVENTION

ASSIGNMENT 2B

ENBE Assignment 2B -GROUP

  • Students need to conduct a pre-visit through online platform using google Earth and print out a map of your street and analysis purposes before going on the trip.

  • Students need to capture the tangible and intangible built elements and to be critical when conducting their site study. At last, students need to transfer the information with the use of a standard street plan or illustration to the final presentation boards (A1 size).

  • Students are assigned to a site in KL area as a group and therefore, they have to conduct a site study where an investigation is carried out through site observation. Then, students need to prepare a site inventory (data collection) and evaluation of the site and street.

Objectives of this project:

1. To extend knowledge of the built environment at its basic unit and function.

2. To understand the interrelation between built environment and its users. 

3. To question, analyse and articulate the impact by the built environment.​

WORKING PROGRESS

  1. After discuss on Skype, we choose two street and submit it to Facebook to let our lecture choose for us

  2. we choose 2 streets , there are Jalan Petaling and Jalan Tun H.S Lee.

  3. The lecturers choose the Jalan Tun H S Lee for our group.

  4. Before our site visit, senior told us in tutorial that we should made a check lists, and print s few maps.

  5. When we go to our site visit,we took many photo and jot down the details of shadows,sun and wind path and facade study of the buildings beside the historic triangle.

  6. we categorize all the information and refer to senior works to plan our layout on butter paper. 

  7. Because our information not make sense ,so we go back our site again to collect more information and interview the local worker and a few tourist. 

  8. we lost when we are planing our intervention to our site,"HISTORIC TRIANGLE'

  9. So we finalized the early parts of the boards.

  10. and then we focus on our street intervention.

  11. We were very lost and anxious 

  12. our senior help us a lot on street intervention, he give us some suggestion and then we finally have an idea on intervention and we start  doing our intervention board and our 2D-model

  13. At the end, we finish our board and our 2D-model on time
